Born near San Marcos, Texas, Emma Kyle Burleson (1869-1941) was the daughter of Edward Burleson, Jr. and Lucy Emma Kyle. After attending St. Mary’s Academy in Austin and the Augusta Female Seminary in Virginia, Emma settled in Austin.
